Summary and Explanation | PolyDetector Alk Blue Ready-to-Use Substrate-Chromogen is suitable for use in Immunohistochemical, immunocytochemical and in situ hybridization procedures using Alkaline Phosphatase Detection Systems. PolyDetector Alk Blue Ready-to-Use Substrate-Chromogen allows for the demonstration of tissue antigens or nucleic acids in paraffin-embedded tissues, cryostat sections, cytosmears, and cell preparations. The substrate-chromogen is the final step in the detection portion; it enables the antibody-antigen-enzyme complex to be viewed under the light microscope. This occurs when Alk Blue, in the presence of Alkaline Phosphatase, gets deposited at the site of the target antigen or nucleic acid, producing a dark blue color that is not soluble in organic solvents and therefore can be mounted with permanent or water-based mounting media. Alk Blue is suitable to be mounted with a permanent or water-based mounting media, such as Perma Mounter (BSB 0094-BSB 0097), XyGreen PermaMounter (BSB 0169 – BSB 0174), or Aqua Mounter (BSB 0090-BSB 0093). | |||||||||||||||||||||
