IHC of Bcl-10 on an FFPE Tonsil Tissue
Intended Use | For In Vitro Diagnostic Use.
Summary and Explanation | bcl-10 (also known as B-cell lymphoma/leukemia 10) is a 233 amino acid protein encoded by the BCL10 gene on Chromosome 1. The protein encoded by this gene contains a caspase recruitment domain , and has been shown to induce apoptosis and activate NF-kappaB. This protein is reported to interact with caspase recruitment domains (CARD) containing proteins including CARD9, 10, 11 and 14. These proteins function as upstream regulators in NF-kappaB signaling.Studies have shown that bcl-10 plays a critical role in the development of mucosa associated lymphoma tissue (MALT) lymphoma, and can be utilized in the classification of lymphomas. The antibody labels subpopulations of normal B and T cells. In MALT lymphomas with the t(1;14) translocation, the antibody strongly labeled the nuclei and cytoplasm, while 55% of MALT lymphomas lacking this translocation exhibited the same labeling pattern, although at a much lower level.
